I discovered this region for the first time in 1996, and since then,
have revisited the area three times, including two trips devoted exclusively
to painting.
This is a very pleasant region, without too many
tourists. It provides a variety of subjects and is the perfect place
for sea scapes. The small ports which raise oysters on the coast are
a real treat and the local population is very hospitable. Visiting
the area is always a source of pleasure.

The Chinese port (pastel - 1999)
I painted this picture in the evening after
a rainy day (see below).

The rain forced us to seek shelter in Guys
car. I finally had to abandon this painting.

Twilight in the Marais de Batz (pastel
- 1999)
While leaving Le Croisic, we crossed the Marais
de Batz and stopped just long enough to complete a sketch.
